How do I create a new project?

Start your first project from the welcome screen, or any later project with New Project on the Projects page.

Your first project

The first time you sign in, you see Let's start a project together.

  1. Click Start with my files.

  2. Enter a Project Name.

  3. Click Launch Project.

Don't have any files yet? Click Try our demo project to explore a finished example first. You can switch to your own files any time.

Every project after that

  1. On the Projects page, click New Project (top right).

  2. Enter a Project Name and click Launch Project.

What happens next

Your project opens on Project Setup, at the first step (Brief). Your work saves automatically, so you can leave and come back. See "How does Project Setup work?"

If you leave a project before finishing its free trial, the Projects page shows Pick up where you left off with a button to continue it.

Things to know

  • Creating a project is free, and every new project starts with a free trial that runs Module 1.

  • A package covers one project, so each project is bought separately.

  • You can rename a project later from the ⋯ menu on its card.

Student accounts: one project per quarter

Verified student accounts can start one new project per quarter. The Projects page shows your count next to the page title, for example This quarter: 1 of 1 project used · next unlocks Oct 1. If you click New Project after using this quarter's, you'll see One project per quarter with the date your next one unlocks. Until then, keep working in your current project (add files, re-run, or upgrade); the demo project is always open.
