How does Project Setup work?

Three short steps: answer six questions (Brief), add files (Ingest), and confirm what was found (Clarify). Then run.

Project Setup is the first tab in every project. It's three short steps that tell Eydora what it's working on: Brief, Ingest, and Clarify. Nothing except the first question is required. Answer what you know and leave the rest; Eydora fills gaps from your files and its own analysis. Everything saves automatically.

Step 1: Brief

Six questions, answered in your own words:

  1. What are you working on? (required)

  2. What are you trying to accomplish?

  3. Who do you believe it is for?

  4. What already exists?

  5. What work, evidence, or learning do you already have?

  6. What must Eydora take into account?

See "The Brief: every question explained" for what each one is asking. Click Next: Add your files (Ingest) to continue.

Step 2: Ingest

Add any files you have. Supported formats are PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and text (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .txt). Web pages (HTML) aren't supported. Files are parsed automatically on the way to the next step. No file is required; if you have nothing yet, carry on without files. Click Next: Clarify.

Step 3: Clarify

Eydora shows what it found in your files next to each of your answers. For each question you can Add below mine, Replace mine, or Edit your answer. Blanks are fine. This is the last point where a misreading is cheap to fix, because every module builds on these answers. See "How does the Clarify step work?"

Then run:

  • Before you buy a package: Run my free trial (Module 1).

  • After you buy a package: Run the full analysis (Modules 1 to [N]).

You'll go through setup twice

After you pay for a package, you're brought back to Project Setup to confirm your brief and files before the full run. It's the moment to fold in anything the free trial taught you.

Use the step buttons at the top (Brief, Ingest, Clarify) or Previous to move back at any time.

Project Setup replaces the longer nine-step ingestion flow from earlier versions of the app.
