What files should I upload to Eydora?

The document types that produce the sharpest results, why each one helps, and what to skip.

The short version: upload anything that already contains real thinking about your project: briefs, research, specs, decks, financials, notes. Eydora parses your files in the Ingest step of Project Setup and uses them to fill in your Brief answers, so the more you provide, the less you type. (No documents? You can answer the six Brief questions yourself and run without files.)

Supported file formats

  • PDF (.pdf): finalized documents, reports, proposals

  • Word (.doc, .docx): briefs, narratives, editable drafts

  • PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx): decks and presentations

  • Plain text (.txt): raw notes or transcripts

Provide visual or design material (mockups, renders, financials) as a PDF or PowerPoint. Image, Excel, CAD, and web page (HTML) files aren't ingested directly.

Where to start

The Ingest step suggests the files that help most:

  • Customer feedback, reviews, or interviews

  • Pitch deck or business plan

  • Product or service description

  • Competitor notes or benchmarks

  • Brand or marketing assets

  • Exports from Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini

The full range: 12 input categories

If you have more, Eydora can use material across all of these:

  1. Voice of Customer (VOC): interviews, surveys, support tickets, reviews, testimonials, complaints, feature requests, feedback

  2. Net Promoter Score (NPS): NPS segmented by persona, geography, channel, product line, lifecycle stage

  3. Customer Journey Maps: awareness to purchase to retention workflows; delight, friction, abandonment, trust loss

  4. Persona & Demographic Data: segmentation, psychographics, aspirations, lifestyles, motivations, values, behaviors

  5. Competitive Benchmarking: competitor products, messaging, pricing, UX, positioning, visual language, market gaps

  6. Product Usage Analytics: analytics, clickstreams, heatmaps, onboarding completion, retention curves, drop-off

  7. Brand & Marketing Assets: websites, packaging, ads, campaigns, taglines, pitch decks, influencer content, visual systems

  8. Financial & Business Metrics: revenue, margins, CAC, LTV, churn, conversion, pricing models, market sizing

  9. Product & Industrial Design Files: CAD, renderings, CMF directions, prototypes, packaging, UI/UX, ergonomics, usability

  10. Market Research & Trend Data: industry reports, TAM/SAM/SOM, emerging behaviors, cultural shifts, analyst reports, forecasts

  11. Operational & Manufacturing Data: DFM feedback, supply chain, QA reports, warranty claims, production costs, vendor evaluations

  12. Strategic & Organizational Inputs: mission statements, leadership goals, board priorities, roadmaps, investment theses, alignment

Don't worry if you only have a few. Even minimal input works.

What not to upload

  • Empty templates with no content filled in

  • Files unrelated to this project, such as other projects or old archives

  • Sensitive or personal data not relevant to the work

  • Very large documents you haven't read. Pull the relevant sections into a separate file first.

Tips for great inputs

  • More context beats less. If you're not sure it's relevant, upload it.

  • Name your files clearly. "Design Brief v3 Final" beats "doc-1.pdf".

  • Check the Clarify step. It shows what Eydora found in your files next to each answer, so you can fix anything it misread before running.

  • Upload once, at the project level. Files are parsed once and used across every module.

  • If your inputs change, use Add documents & re-run on the Modules tab to refresh the analysis. Each project includes 3 re-runs.

Still not sure what to upload?

If you have documents, upload them; worst case they're ignored. If you have none, just answer the Brief questions directly. For specific questions about your project, click DORA in the bottom right corner of the app and we'll help.
